Originally, Mags made this place in the ether for family and friends to support Macfarlane's journey through cancer. Now that it is over, she uses the legacy of his spirit to chart new waters. Not knowing her mast from her mizzen, it is good to know there are folk out there who can throw a lifebelt.

Dan and Mags were the inspiration behind today. Their courage, and Mike and Helen's, through the last months was immeasurable. This goes out to all the MacFarlane Blog family. It was one of my dear Dad's favourite's:
An Irish Blessing May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine down upon your face, The rain fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hands.
My Dad then used to cheekily add:
'And may you may in Heaven half an hour before the devil knows you're dead!' Dan would like that bit especially. I know he made it in plenty of time!
God bless us one and all (she said, glass in hand - holy water, you'll understand!) Love Susie x
A wonderful wonderful celebration. Passionate,hilarious,risque.. like the man himself. And yes, I followed his instructions to the letter... "Get rat a***d and behave outrageously..thats an order!"
Thank you all for making Saturday 4th. Feb ( our Dad's birthday) such a special day. Dougie was honoured as he deserved. How he would have enjoyed it! Thank you Mags for your care and your courage. I am told that, as we all left the chapel, a shaft of sinlight shone through the window and onto Dougie's photograph. May that picture last long in your memories. Margaret (Dougie's sister)
It's Monday now and I am still glowing with that soft warmth which you, Mags have wrapped us in. Saturday was a true celebration and I have the image of Dan in my mind now with that shaft of sunlight shining on his photo. Lots of love and thoughts continue to flow to all his family, friends and loved ones. Jan

I hope everything went well. I wish I could have been there but thought about you all day yesterday. Helen.

That last bit should read:
'And may you be in Heaven ...'
This holy water is strong stuff!

Dear Mags,
By the sound of it, it was a beautiful service and very much in keeping with Dougie's spirit; he would have wanted it that way.
Love, Aida, KL, Malaysia.
